Alykanas Beach Grand Hotel By Zante Plaza

The location of the hotel is excellent, 10 steps from the pool to the beach, the beach and sea is one of the best I have visited. Hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels. We had a two bedroom apartment that was very spacious and well presented (although bathrooms are in serious need of a refit). There was always hot water and the pressure was good. You do have to pay for the safe 20 euros, and beach towels are 13 euros each but you do get 10 euros each back when you return them (so that’s was fair). I am quite a fussy eater but I managed to always find something to eat and the food was good, I can’t really comment on the evening buffet as we ate out every night (By Choice). Dining experience in the hotel was really good with lots of outside tables and an area overlooking the beach and sea that’s was lovely. I must say Zante is not Spain! It is a little rougher around the edges so don’t expect it to be like Majorca or Tenerife it’s not, but from our experience the people are the friendliest we have met on our travels (and it is a genuine friendliness not put on for tourists). Overall we had a great week me, my partner and 10 year old daughter. We would definitely return to this hotel again (hopefully next time the bathrooms are refitted 🤣) I have put 4 stars as there is improvement but nothing that is major.

Fantastic location, right on the beach, so views are amazing. The rooms are clean and spacious, the only issue was the bathroom fixtures and fittings, which are in dire need of replacement. The food is plentiful and varied, with something for all dietary requirements at every meal. The staff are friendly and will try to make your stay a good one. Don't expect much from the hotel wi-fi, it's very hit and miss, but there's a good 4G signal for most phones.

I have to leave a one star because they cancelled our hotel 5 days before the stay without leaving any explanation. The contact in the booking form didn't work. After we found the contact in their webpage, they told us that my card was declined. I did not receive any bank notification or a prior message from them about this, just a cancellation. They also said that there are no free rooms anymore, although we called minutes after their email. :( they did offer us a much cheaper option in the building nearby, but from the reviews we saw that it was not a nice option at all and we urgently had to search for a new hotel.

this is the 3rd year here and the last. the rooms are old and degraded badly. they do not have handy mans for the problems. the food is average to low level. no investment done in the whole place they just cash in. bad approach towards the customers . stay away look for something else for these money.the water park is old and 1 guy who is very competent but only 1 cares about the place. the play tools are rusty and old and can harm kids. avoid it maybe they understand they have to invest as well.

My recent experience with Alykanas Beach Grand Hotel was far from pleasant. I had made a reservation in September, but in October, they abruptly canceled it without prior notice, blaming a card processing issue. What's baffling is that they claimed my room was immediately resold, which seems highly unlikely. Their communication was inadequate, and the alternative room offered was below par. Disappointing customer service and a stressful situation. Caution advised when booking here.

Absolutely perfect, we stayed here for 5 days and already planning to return. Rooms are bigger then expected and very cozy but modern. They are little bit noisy tho. Food is the best part as there is just so much to choose from. Beach is literally part of the hotel, and it's clean. Absolutely recommend if you looking for relaxing vacation.

Generally speaking had a fantastic holiday that was down to the location more than anything, Alykanas is a nice sized town not to busy not to quiet , plenty of bars, shops and other activities to keep you going for a holiday. The hotel itself is very basic, basic rooms with only a complimentary bottle of water included, the safe costs €20 but is operated with a key so you need to keep the key safe, rooms have thin walls so can here coughing etc, banging of items all hours, this was are biggest gripe, lack of sleep, but appreciate the hotel can’t help guests who have no respect for others. Food..Breakfast time was oddly the hardest meal to find food I liked, they had no porridge, no nuts, honey and jam were in open jars swarming with wasps, the cold meats and cheeses were covered in flies, fried eggs were raw on top with loads of uncooked egg white stuff, that’s obviously down to preference, they also had very few pastry options to chose from. Lunch and diner we found better it was just the horrible canteen feel with your typical pushing and shoving. Drinks were not that bad did get us tipsy, cocktails available on list aren’t the best but Yiannis will try and knock up other forms of cocktails if you ask and it’s not too busy. Pool wasn’t bad seen comments about it being filthy, that was at the end of the day and due to guests not washing the sand of there feet before entering after being in the adjacent sea, but ever morning pool was cleaned thoroughly. Wanted a late room after being told on 4 occasions to try next day in the end turns out they were full, so had to leave luggage in reception area as no locked room for it then book a half hour courtesy room slot, the courtesy room is basically a small wet room with a toilet and a shower with no sides. I’m not painting the hotel in the best light but we did have a memorable holiday, the location is perfect right on the beach a stroll to the right and your at at the small marina a stroll to the left you can visit Alykes, or for some peace and quiet a nice stroll amongst the olive groves( highly recommend), there is also plenty of sun beds to chose we never had an issue whatever time of day we arrived only a few people were sad enough to put towels down early. Greece was beautiful as were the people, and we will visit again one day for sure.
